Since 2008, served as the Program Coordinator for this initiative to educate primary care physicians about Medicare coding & documentation, and caring for seniors. The program was grant-funded from 2008 - 2013.
Served as a volunteer member of the Consortium, working to refine and update the Colorado MOST (Medical Orders for Scope of Treatment) form and to educate members of the medical community and the public about its importance and use. Received two awards from the Colorado Health Foundation totaling $1.6 million for The Colorado M.E.S.A. (Medicare Experts/Senior Access) Initiative. The goals of this grant project were to increase the quality and accessibility of healthcare for seniors under the Medicare program and to increase the confidence and satisfaction of primary care physicians in treating seniors with some of the most difficult and co-existing health conditions throughout Colorado.
